Klungkung has a total area of 315 km² and is occupied by more than 170.000 inhabitants. Klungkung area is comprised of Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. Most of their inhabitants live on farming. In the past before Mount Agung erupted Klungkung was the main producer of rice in Bali after Tabanan. These days, besides farming, they also pro-duce sculptures of wood and metal. Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are the small islands that belong to Klungkung region seperated by Badung Strait.
