The total size of Badung region is 420 km² and is occupied by 280.000 people. Most of its inhab-itants live on farming (North and Central Badung) and service/ business related to tourism (mostly managed by family and is small in scale).
Badung is divided into 6 sub districts, namely: Petang, Mengwi, Abiansemal, North Kuta, South Kuta, and Kuta. Out of the six sub districts, the last three are the most popular due to their tour-ism industry. Based on administrative division Ngurah Rai Airport is in Denpasar, but geografi-cally it is located in Kuta area and therefore is very close to the Kuta beach.
In addition to its short distance from the airport, this region has several beaches with magnifi-cent views the reason why tourism industry grows fast here.
As the main tourist destination in Bali, Kuta offers hundreds of places to stay and restaurants.
