Gianyar is well known for its culture and arts

The size of Gianyar region is aproximately 368 km2 and is occupied by more than 354.000 in-habitants. The majority of its inhabitants live on handicraft industry, most of which is home made, and farming. Gianyar is divided into 7 sub districts, namely: Payangan, Tegallalang, Tampak Siring, Ubud, Gianyar, Sukawati and Blahbatu.

Gianyar is well known for its culture and arts, beautiful mountain scenery, relics and other his-torical items, handicraft products made locally by home industry. Out of the 7 sub-districts Ubud is the most visited place.
