Mount Batur

One of the pleasurable activities you can do here is to climb to the top of Mount Batur and enjoy the sunrise at an altitude of 1700 meters. This relatively easy hike takes only about 2 hours. Although it is a short distance, for safety and security reason, it is always best to climb with a guide. Authorized guides can be contacted at their organization called Association of Mount Batur Trekking Guides whose office is in Toyo Bungkah Village. Make sure the guide you hire is grouped in the asso-ciation above to avoid a possible fuss. The best time to climb the mountain is at 03.00 in the morning so that you can reach the peak just before the sun rises.
