Besakih Temple

Pura Besakih (Besakih Temple) is located in Rendang sub district, Karangasem, about 44 km from Denpasar. The word ‘besakih’ is taken from the word Basuki or Wasuki (Sanskrit) which means safety. Besakih Temple is also known as the Mother Temple and is a complex or centre of temples in Bali. Besakih Temple is the biggest and deemed the holiest temple in Bali.
